Shillong, Nov 20: A 25‑year‑old man from Kamrup, Assam, currently residing in Nongshilliang, was arrested for trespassing the fanpit area during the recently concluded Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival 2025.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem confirmed the arrest on Thursday, stating, “He was arrested for trespassing (during the festival).”

According to police, an FIR was lodged by the festival organizers following the incident.
The accused allegedly breached the fanpit zone with the intent to reach the stage, causing a security guard to trip Hip‑Hop superstar Tyga.
It was also alleged that the individual had a prior history of unauthorized entry: he had allegedly broken into the Cherry Blossom Festival 2024 by slipping through a weak point in the perimeter fence and had also gained access to an Ed Sheeran concert by posing as a security guard wearing a green vest.
