4 injured in electrocution incident in Garo Hills

Tura, April 30: Four people, including two children, were seriously injured after being electrocuted in a village in Hallidayganj, West Garo Hills, on Tuesday.

The incident occurred when a fire broke out at the house of Baten Ali in Sobribari, Hallidayganj. The blaze caused a main electrical wire to snap, leading to the electrocution of four members of the household.

The victims have been identified as the house owner Baten Ali (28), his wife Jomella Khatun (26), their 3-year-old son Abdul Habib, and 6-year-old daughter Habiba Khatun.

Fire and Emergency Services from nearby Hatsingimari in Assam rushed to the scene and managed to douse the flames before further damage could occur.

All four injured were taken to Hatsingimari Civil Hospital in Assam for immediate treatment and later referred to GMCH, Guwahati for further care.
