Shillong, April 22: The 61st Raising Day of Headquarter 101 Area was observed with the spirit of valor and dedication in Shillong, on Monday.

The day was also observed to commemorate, the contribution of the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice, in the line of duty. The event was attended by serving personnel, their families and veterans.

Major General Amar Ramdasani, Yudh Seva Medal, Chief of Staff, Headquarter 101 Area, paid homage at the Prerna Sthal War Memorial.

The 101 Headquarters played a pivotal role in counterinsurgency operations in Mizoram from 1966 to 1969, fostering peace and harmony. In the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War, HQ 101 Area spearheaded combat operations in Sylhet earned major laurels.
