SHILLONG, APR 29: A total of 684 violations were detected by the Shillong Traffic Police during a special checking drive to ensure safety on the roads and to deter the violators.
The checking was conducted from April 22 to 28.
“During the period, a total of 684 violations were detected including the violations such as driving under the influence of alcohol, modified exhaust pipes etc and fine amount of Rs 6,78,000 was realized,” East Khasi Hills SP Rituraj Ravi said on Monday.
He said STP requested all citizens to drive carefully and follow the laws. Such special drives shall be conducted regularly in addition to regular checking in the interest of safety on the roads.
