Shillong, Aug 30: Opposition Voice of the People Party (VPP) legislator from North Shillong, Adelbert Nongrum, on Friday expressed concern over using of railings at Khyndailad for “drying clothes”.
Raising the issue during the question hour in the Assembly, Nongrum said the incident of people drying clothes on the railings was reported on October 22, 2019.
He said that the matter is a serious issue and is an eyesore considering that Khyndailad is being visited by tourists coming to the state.
In his reply, Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Urban Affairs Sniawbhalang Dhar said that there has been no official complaint received on the matter.
He however assured that he would immediately instruct his officers to see that nobody is allowed to hang clothes on the railings, which have been construction for protection of people.
