Dimapur, Nov 18: The Government of Nagaland has announced Air India Express as the official Travel Partner for the Hornbill Festival 2025, strengthening air connectivity and boosting the state’s flagship cultural event.
The announcement was made on Monday at the airline’s headquarters in Gurugram by Abu Metha, Advisor to the Chief Minister and Chairman of the Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), along with Aloke Singh, Managing Director of Air India Express.
Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio welcomed the collaboration, calling it a timely partnership that will enhance visitor experience while taking the state’s cultural richness to a wider audience.
“This engagement strengthens our collective vision of nation-building and creates greater opportunities for tourism, cultural exchange, and economic progress in the Land of Festivals,” Rio said.
Air India Express has also rolled out a 15% discount on direct and one-stop flights to Dimapur for bookings made between November 20 and 30, valid for travel from November 20 to December 15, using the promo code HORNBILL.
As part of the partnership, the airline will facilitate travel for participating artists and organisers, and set up a Hornbill Experience Kiosk at Dimapur Airport to welcome visitors. Singh said the collaboration aligns with the airline’s ‘Tales of India’ cultural engagement initiative.
“The Hornbill Festival exemplifies the vibrancy and artistic richness of Nagaland. Through our ‘Tales of India’ initiative, we aim to showcase indigenous art forms and elevate the travel experience,” he noted.
The Hornbill Festival, held annually from December 1 to 10 at Kisama, is Nagaland’s biggest cultural celebration, bringing together all Naga tribes in a vibrant showcase of heritage, music, dance, crafts, and cuisine. Widely acclaimed as the “Festival of Festivals,” it attracts thousands of visitors from across India and abroad each year.
