Shillong, July 23: Akashvani North Eastern Service will mark National Broadcasting Day with a spectacular North East Music Concert on July 23, celebrating 90 years of Akashvani’s service to the nation.
The musical extravaganza will occur at 3:00 PM at the U Soso Tham Auditorium, State Central Library, Shillong.
The event will be graced by Dr. Pragya Paliwal Gaur, Director General of Akashvani, as the Chief Guest, and promises to be a powerful showcase of the region’s rich musical heritage and cultural unity.
Top artists and bands from all eight North Eastern states will present an exciting lineup of folk, fusion, contemporary, and traditional performances.

Entry is free and open to the public. The concert aims to bring together diverse musical traditions on one stage, offering a shared space of rhythm, identity, and celebration.
Organised by All India Radio, Shillong, the North East Music Concert is set to be a landmark cultural event, reinforcing Akashvani’s enduring connection with the people of the region.
