Shillong, July 27: With the swearing in of BJP legislator from South Shillong, Sanbor Shullai as a Cabinet Minister on Tuesday, every one is wondering the portfolio he will be alloted.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said he will be sitting for a meeting to decide portfolio for Shullai and will require a few days time.

He also informed that the cabinet reshuffle was based on letter received from BJP president Ernest Mawrie. The parties of the MDA government during the start of taking over had decided among themselves that they will share the ministerial berth.

The last Cabinet reshuffle took place last year in October when HSPDP MLA and current PHE Minister Renikton Tongkhar replaced Samlin Malngiang. Similarly, NPP MLA and former minister of fisheries was replaced by Dasakhiat Lamare.

So far there has been no reaction from BJP legislator and former Health Minister, AL Hek. he has been unavailable since morning. Sources have mentioned that Hek was not happy with the replacement and had decided not to attend the swearing in ceremony.

After his swearing-in, Shullai said this is as per the directive of the Central High Command and they have to comply to it and respect that.

Asked what his top priority will be once given a portfolio, Shullai said that he will continue to work for the society like how he has been doing.
