Ampati, June 17: The Office of the District Election Officer (DEO), South West Garo Hills, on Wednesday conducted a training programme for election officials in preparation for the forthcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls with reference to October 1, 2026.
Held at the DRDA Conference Hall in the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Ampati, the programme brought together BLO Supervisors and Enumerators from the 53-Ampati (ST), 54-Mahendraganj (ST), and 55-Salmanpara (ST) Assembly Constituencies.
Officials briefed participants on the guidelines, procedures and responsibilities associated with the revision exercise, stressing the need to ensure accuracy, inclusiveness and transparency in updating electoral rolls.

The training covered field-level activities, voter data collection, verification procedures and timelines to be followed during the revision process. Election Branch officials also addressed queries from participants to ensure uniform understanding and smooth implementation of the exercise.
The programme concluded with officials urging all personnel involved to discharge their duties diligently to facilitate the successful completion of the electoral roll revision across the district.
