Itanagar, Aug 18: Troops of the Indian Army’s Spear Corps extended humanitarian assistance in the aftermath of a devastating cloudburst that struck Angrim Valley in Dibang Valley, Arunachal Pradesh, during the intervening night of August 16–17, 2025.
The cloudburst triggered massive landslides, destroying three homes, a community hall, and a local shop. Standing crops and livestock enclosures were swept away, while nearly 200 meters of the Anini–Dembuen road was buried under slush and boulders, cutting off vital connectivity.

The Army launched rescue and relief operations in close coordination with the Civil Administration. Soldiers evacuated stranded families, provided medical aid, and distributed essential supplies including food, clothing, and shelter materials.
Beyond immediate rescue, troops worked with villagers to clear blocked paths, set up temporary shelters, and restore communication links.
Despite treacherous terrain and adverse weather, operations continued with urgency and determination.
The Indian Army’s timely intervention has brought relief to distressed families and reaffirmed its role as a pillar of support for the people of Arunachal Pradesh. Restoration efforts are ongoing as the Army and local authorities strive to normalize life in Angrim Valley.
