Guwahati, Apr 11: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday came down heavily on Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) for spreading misinformation about the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
Talking to reporters in Tengakhat, Assam CM said, “two core Bangladeshis have entered Assam who said all those? Chief minister or Akhil Gogoi or Lurinjyoti Gogoi they must apologize”.
“The deaths of five individuals during protests to what he termed as “instigating statement” and “misinformation” regarding the CAA,” Sarma stated.
He said, “people came out to the street due to false statement on CAA and vandalised public property. Due to misinformation such things happened,”.
Sarma challenged the viability of Gandhi’s leadership, stating, “even if we ask a LP school student who they want as the country’s Prime Minister, they will say they want Narendra Modi,” he added.
Sarma has been addressing political rallies in Dibrugarh Lok Sabha constituency for campaigning in support of Union minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
