Boko, April 5: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday expressed confidence that the NDA will secure a decisive victory in the Boko-Chaygaon constituency, even as he strongly rejected allegations made by Congress leader Pawan Khera against his wife Riniki Bhuyan.

Addressing reporters during a campaign visit, Sarma said there was a “massive outpouring of love, affection and support” from voters and asserted that NDA candidate Raju Mech would win by a “huge margin”, amid intensified campaigning ahead of the Assembly elections.

The Chief Minister also hit back at Khera’s allegations regarding multiple passports and assets linked to his wife, describing them as “baseless”. He claimed the documents cited contained discrepancies in names and language, and accused the Congress of fabricating evidence. Sarma said he would request the police to verify the authenticity of the documents and take action accordingly.

Shifting focus to development, Sarma announced that the government plans to allocate ₹200 crore for road infrastructure in Boko. He also indicated that an educational institution may be set up in the region to boost long-term development and create opportunities for local residents.

Projecting a strong performance for the BJP-led alliance, Sarma said the party could win between 90 and 100 seats, with the possibility of crossing the 100-seat mark. He also criticised the Congress for internal divisions while highlighting the BJP’s outreach efforts.
