Guwahati, Feb 5: In a distressing incident, a man hailing from Assam was admitted to a hospital in Kerala after he was found consuming raw flesh of a cat.

A 27-year-old man from Assam was found consuming raw flesh from a deceased cat at a bus stand in Kuttippuram, north Kerala. The man, hailing from Dhubri district in Assam, had resorted to this extreme measure due to days of starvation.

Local residents discovered the man sitting on the bus stand’s stairway, devouring the raw meat in desperation. Upon notification, authorities intervened, providing him with immediate medical attention and food.

“The man had gone without food for the past five days,” stated a police official at the scene. “Upon inquiry, he revealed his dire situation.”

According to the police, the man, identified as a college student from Assam, had travelled to Kerala by train in December without informing his family. Despite his distressing circumstances, both his physical and mental health were reported to be stable.

Police further said they have reached out to his relatives.
