TURA, September 21: Three persons who used lethal weapons and attacked a woman in Mahendraganj four years ago has been finally convicted by the court in Ampati, south West Garo Hills district, this week.
The three attackers, namely Anju Ray, Robi Ray and Milon Ray had an altercation with the woman victim that led to an attack with a lethal weapon on her in the year 2018. Police were called in and the trio were arrested.
Based on the investigation conducted and the submission of the chargesheet in January 2020, the court of the Judicial Magistrate, First Class, South West Garo Hills District found all three guilty and convicted them.
The three accused were sentenced on the 13th of this month to two years o rigorous imprisonment and a fine of five thousand rupees each for the crime.
