Guwahati, May 27: Bank of Baroda has expanded its presence in the Northeast with the launch of a technology-driven “phygital” branch in Shillong and a Regional Stressed Assets Recovery Branch (ROSARB) in Guwahati, underscoring its focus on digital banking and operational strengthening in the region.

The newly inaugurated phygital branch in Shillong combines digital self-service banking with personalised customer assistance, offering customers a hybrid banking experience aimed at improving convenience and efficiency.

Meanwhile, the ROSARB in Guwahati is expected to strengthen the bank’s stressed asset recovery and resolution mechanism in the Northeastern States Zone through focused monitoring and improved recovery processes.
The two facilities were inaugurated by Lal Singh in the presence of Shiba Pada Nayak and other senior officials.

B.D.R. Tiwari, Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, attended the Shillong inauguration as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Lal Singh said the initiatives reflect the bank’s continued emphasis on innovation, customer-centric services, and strengthening its regional operations in the Northeast.

Founded in 1908, Bank of Baroda is one of India’s leading public sector banks, with operations in 15 countries and a customer base of around 180 million globally.
