Union MoS reviews central schemes in Williamnagar, calls for timely implementation

SHILLONG, MAY 27: Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Nikhil Khadse on Wednesday reviewed the implementation of centrally sponsored schemes across multiple government departments in East Garo Hills and urged officials to ensure benefits reach every household.

The review meeting covered schemes under the Public Works Department, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, Housing, Fisheries, Soil and Water Conservation, Health, Social Welfare, Water Resources, C&RD Blocks, Planning, Sports, Tourism, among others.

While assessing progress, the minister called for greater dedication from officials.

“Work with dedication so that the benefit will reach every household,” Khadse said.

She also underscored the importance of regular monitoring.

“There is a need to review the implementation of schemes in time in order to maintain transparency,” she added.

District officials presented status reports on ongoing projects and flagged challenges in last-mile delivery. The minister directed departments to expedite pending works and strengthen coordination to avoid delays.

The visit is part of the Centre’s outreach to monitor on-ground execution of flagship schemes and address implementation gaps at the district level.
