Boko, Jan 3: A motorcyclist was killed on the spot in a hit-and-run accident on National Highway 17 at Birpara in Boko on Friday night, police said.
According to preliminary information, the victim was struck by an unidentified vehicle and succumbed to his injuries instantly. Police from Boko rushed to the site soon after receiving information about the accident.
The identity of the deceased is yet to be established.
Police said the man was wearing a black sweater and blue trousers at the time of the incident.
A Hero Honda Splendor motorcycle bearing registration number AS-01-AA-0420 was recovered from the spot. The body, along with the motorcycle, was later brought to Boko Police Station for further investigation.
Police have launched efforts to trace the vehicle involved and identify the deceased.
