Guwahati, May 28: Buoyed by its sweeping victories in the recent Panchayat and Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council (RHAC) elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is intensifying preparations for the upcoming Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) elections, scheduled for September 2025.

According to a BJP press release issued on Tuesday, the party has deployed a coordinated team of ministers and senior leaders to oversee campaign efforts across the BTR’s five key districts:

Kokrajhar District: Minister Ashok Singhal and MLA Diplu Ranjan Sharma

Chirang District: Minister Kaushik Rai and Ajay Rai

Baksa District: Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass and Ashok Bhattarai

Tamulpur District: Minister Jayanta Mallah Baruah and Pulak Gohain

Udalguri District: Minister Pijush Hazarika and Pallab Lochan Das

These leaders have commenced grassroots meetings, energising local workers, and enhancing organisational activities to consolidate the party’s base in the region.

A crucial strategy session is slated for May 29, where the assigned ministers and party officials will convene with Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Assam BJP President Dilip Saikia to finalise poll tactics.

The BJP’s confidence is further bolstered by developmental projects spearheaded by the Sarma-led government and a robust organisational network under state BJP chief Saikia. The party aims to maintain its winning momentum and secure a strong foothold in the BTR ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections.
