Agartala, March 24: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will contest the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections independently after seat-sharing talks with allies — the TIPRA Motha Party and the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) — broke down.
The decision was finalised late Monday at a BJP core committee meeting, where Chief Minister Manik Saha confirmed that candidates have been selected for all 28 constituencies.

The list has been sent to the party’s central leadership for approval, with an official announcement expected shortly.
The move ends weeks of speculation over a pre-poll alliance and sets the stage for a direct electoral contest between former allies in the crucial ADC polls.
