Def Leppard India Tour: Trance Effect to open shows in Shillong

Shillong, March 24: As anticipation builds for Def Leppard’s India tour this March, BookMyShow Live has announced a strong line-up of Indian rock acts set to open the band’s shows across three cities, bringing together global icons and homegrown talent on one stage.

The tour will feature Trance Effect in Shillong, Indus Creed in Mumbai and Thermal And A Quarter in Bengaluru as opening acts, setting the tone for high-energy performances ahead of the British rock legends.

The tour kicks off on March 25 at the RBDSA Sports Complex in Shillong, where Trance Effect which are known for their powerful stage presence and blend of hard rock and contemporary sounds will open the night in what is often regarded as India’s rock capital.

In Mumbai, the March 27 show at Jio World Garden will see veteran rock band Indus Creed take the stage. Widely credited with shaping India’s rock scene since the late 1980s, the band remains one of the country’s most influential acts.

The tour will conclude in Bengaluru on March 29 at NICE Grounds, with city-based band Thermal And A Quarter opening the show. Known for their unique mix of alternative rock, jazz, funk and soul, the band has built a strong following over the past two decades.

Organisers said the inclusion of Indian opening acts reflects a growing push to spotlight local talent alongside international performers, offering them a platform before large audiences while strengthening India’s evolving live music scene.

With over 110 million albums sold worldwide and a career spanning decades, Def Leppard remains one of rock’s biggest names. The band featuring Joe Elliott, Phil Collen, Rick Savage, Vivian Campbell and Rick Allen continues to draw massive global audiences, with recent releases and tours reinforcing their legacy as a leading live act.
