Guwahati, April 18: Addressing a gathering at Kokrajhar Green Field, BJP national President credited the growth and development of North East to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, he said that the development of North East began with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He stated that the Bodo Peace Accord was signed which paved the way for peace and development in the Bodo Territorial Region (BTR) area after decades of unrest.He stated that the strong decisions taken by PM and Amit Shah brought peace in the region.
He slammed the opposition for neglecting the North East for decades. Congress had isolated the northeast from the rest of the country. He credited the significant improvement in connectivity of the region to Prime Minister Modi. Accessibility to mainland India once a distant dream for many in Assam, but now it is accessible through improved infrastructural measures, he stated.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi alone has taken more visits to North Eastern states than previous Prime Ministers combined. He credited PM for bringing peace , hydropower generation, tourism, 5G connectivity, cultural development , natural farming, infrastructural development in sports and innumerable ways to nourish the potential of the region.
Nadda said, “70 percent of north-east is now outside the ambit of Armed Forces (Special Power) Act.” He further stated that, Bodo Territorial Region was earlier known for violence and disturbances but now this area has set an example of peace and development. He said, the Centre has allocated 1500 crore Rupees for development works as per the peace accord and more than 1000 militants surrendered during this period.
The initiatives taken by the Prime Minister are designed for the development of the North East. Nadda slammed the Congress for divisive policies for this area and said that BJP believes in inclusiveness.
JP Nadda addressed over 50,000 supporters of NDA allies UPPL, BJP and AGP. The rally witnessed the presence of key political figures including BTR chief Pramod Boro, ministers Ranjit Das,Ashok Singhal, Chandramohan Patwari, and senior AGP leader Ramen Kalita. After his rally in Kokrajhar Nadda is slated to continue his extensive campaign efforts with another rally in Rauta, extending his unwavering support for theDarrang-Udalguru Lok Sabha seat.
