BSF rescues seven injured in truck accident near Phanda BOP in South Garo Hills

Baghmara, July 10: A truck carrying bricks from Mankachar to Rongra overturned in the early hours of Thursday near a bridge close to the Border Out Post (BOP) Phanda under the 200 Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF), injuring seven people.

The accident occurred around 5:30 AM on a hilly stretch of road. Residents who witnessed the mishap quickly alerted the BSF personnel at BOP Phanda. Responding swiftly, the Company Commander mobilised a BSF ambulance and medical team to the site.

A BSF Nursing Assistant provided first aid to the injured at the scene, after which all seven individuals were evacuated to Baghmara Government Hospital for further treatment.

The incident was also reported to the Commandant of 200 Bn BSF, who directed immediate medical response and coordination with local authorities.

Baghmara Police Station has been informed, and an investigation into the cause of the accident is currently underway.
