Guwahati, April 15: A forest officer was killed and another sustained injuries after a buffalo attacked them.
The incident happened at Kaziranga National Park when they were on a routine patrol in the forest area under the Elephant Camp on Monday. “The attack has spread shockwaves in the local forestry community,” informed a forest official.
The deceased forest officer has been identified as Apu Momin. He was dedicated to wildlife conservation.
The injured forest personnel has been identified as Sonamani Rabha, who was with Momin during the attack.
He was rushed to the Sub-Divisional Civil Hospital in Kaliabor for medical treatment.
The authorities have launched an investigation to know the unprecedented aggression of buffaloes.
