Tura, April 29: South West Garo Hills District, Ampati authorities in response to the escalating temperatures impacting the entire district have revised the school timings to safeguard the well-being of students, teachers, and staff.
No school shall conduct classes from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The revised timings are to be implemented with immediate effect until May 3. Outdoor activities and morning assemblies are suspended until further orders.
Upper Primary, Secondary, and Higher Secondary Schools may hold classes between 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with flexibility granted to school management to close, if necessary, with proper notification.
Nursery and Lower Primary Schools will be closed from April 30 until May 1, 2024. The deworming exercise for Lower Primary Schools, at the discretion of school authorities.
Students are advised to use caps or umbrellas for protection from the sun, and schools must ensure access to water and hydration solutions. Emergency medical care will be provided for cases of severe dehydration.
Evening and night schools will remain operational as usual.
