Following a zonal meeting with MLAs from West Khasi Hills District relating to the health facilities in the districts, Meghalaya health minister Ampareen Lyngdoh will apprise the chief minister of the crucial lack of manpower in this district.

The minister on Monday had visited West Khasi Hills District and convened the first zonal meeting with the four MLAs from the region in the presence of medical officers (MOs), nursing staff, supervisors, DHS, DM&HO to discuss the efficiency of the health centres in the district.
In a statement, ACHIK president Thomas M Marak said, “Today, we are issuing an ultimatum to the Meghalaya Government, demanding immediate and decisive action to implement the Roster System retrospectively in all public sector organizations, departments, and educational institutions.”
"We are in the process of searching members who are willing to head or be members of such a committee. The process has started and we need to give the search committee its own time so that we do things in the correct way and correct manner," Lyngdoh told reporters.
Further, the minister informed that the food safety inspectors have also been asked to find out how many days it takes for imported fish to reach the state.
The minister also informed that the Cabinet has also approved the proposal for enhancement of the financial powers to the DGP, IGP, DIGP, SP under Schedule IV of the Meghalaya Delegation of Financial Powers Rule, 2006.
