Shillong, June 27: The CBI and Customs authorities conducted a joint inspection at the Dawki land port following reports of alleged corrupt practices by port officials.
A complaint was received regarding corruption involving the allowance of trucks to exceed the permissible weight limit when passing through the port. Subsequently, a joint inspection was conducted on Wednesday, during which CBI and Customs officials scrutinized documents and interrogated port personnel.
A Dawki Land Port official denied any wrongdoing, describing the activity as a routine joint check rather than a raid. He clarified that the inspection was carried out by customs vigilance and CBI officials, and no irregularities were found.
