Guwahati, Feb 14: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has announced the approval of ₹747.72 crore for 26 infrastructure projects in Assam under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF).
Of the total amount, ₹617.98 crore has been sanctioned for 10 road development projects, while ₹129.74 crore has been cleared for 16 bridge projects under the CRIF Setu Bandhan Scheme.

The projects aim to strengthen regional connectivity, improve transportation efficiency, and reduce travel time across key corridors in the state. The bridge projects, in particular, are expected to enhance access to remote and riverine areas, ensuring smoother movement of goods and people.
The Centre said the initiatives will also provide a boost to local trade and economic activity, contributing to Assam’s overall socio-economic development.
