Williamnagar, Oct 13: A team of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) experts has expressed satisfaction with the implementation of the ‘Har Ghar Jal’ initiative in East Garo Hills after carrying out a detailed inspection in 16 villages in the district.
The team visited East Garo Hills District from October 9 – 14, 2023. The expert team, comprising Dr. Dinesh Chand, specializing in Water & Sanitation Hygiene from the Department of Drinking Water within the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, and Dinesh Kumar Upadhyay, also an expert in Water & Sanitation Hygiene, representing the Department of Drinking Water under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, undertook the inspection of 16 villages under “Har Ghar Jal” initiative.
On the morning of October 13, the experts had a significant meeting with Vibhor Aggarwal, the Deputy Commissioner of East Garo Hills, during which they discussed various aspects related to the Jal Jeevan mission. Subsequently, the team proceeded towards Daribokgre for an even more detailed and comprehensive inspection.
In an exclusive interview with Hub News, Dr. Dinesh Chand elaborated on the purpose of their visit. He expressed his satisfaction with the progress made in the 16 villages they had inspected.
Dr. Chand noted, “We are pleased with the significant strides taken in these villages as part of the ‘Har Ghar Jal’ initiative.”
