Dimapur, June 24: A youth-led group calling itself the “Fed-up Nagas” has announced a peaceful public rally in Dimapur on June 27, demanding the immediate implementation of all agreements signed between the Government of India and Naga political groups.
The rally, scheduled to be held at the Supermarket area in Dimapur at 11 am, comes amid growing frustration over the prolonged delay in resolving the Naga political issue and concerns over governance and accountability in the state.
In a public invitation circulated on Wednesday, the organisers said agreements reached in good faith should not be left in “indefinite uncertainty” and asserted that the Naga society had reached a point where “silence is no longer an option”.
“The gathering is not a political rally nor divided by tribal lines. It is a collective platform for every Naga who believes our land deserves better,” the organisers said.
The group said the rally seeks to highlight unresolved systemic challenges, stagnation and the hardships faced by ordinary citizens of Nagaland, while urging people to unite for a “transparent, accountable and dignified future.”
“Your presence is your voice, and our strength lies in our unity,” the invitation read, adding that “true leadership shines in times of collective purpose.”
The announcement comes amid renewed public discourse in Nagaland over the fate of the long-pending Naga political settlement, including the implementation of agreements signed between the Centre and Naga groups.
The organisers said further details regarding participation and the programme would be announced in the coming days.
