Shillong, Feb 16: The state government on Monday announced holding of the elections to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) on April 10.
This was informed by cabinet minister Wailadmiki Shylla after a cabinet meeting chaired by chief minister Conrad K Sangma.
“The date of polling has been fixed on April 10 while the date of counting is on April 14,” Shylla told reporters.

The minister informed that the date of issue of gazette notification will be on March 9 while the last date for nominations is March 16.
Scrutiny of nominations will be held on March 16 after 3 pm and the last date of withdrawal of candidatures will be on March 17. The finalization and publication of valid nominations, allotment of symbols will be on March 18.
