Guwahati, Aug 8: In a chilling incident, a man was detained in Guwahati on Monday after a viral video purportedly showing him assaulting his old-aged mother went viral on social media.
The man not only tortured his mother but also poured hot water on her.
The accused son has been identified as Samajyoti Bharali.
This inhumane act place near the District Commissioner’s Office located at Hengerabari.
According to reports, the video was shot by man’s neighbour was filmed by a neighbour. beating her.
The neighbours of the family also alleged that the son had tied his mother in the courtyard of the house in scorching heat and poured hot water on her.
The motive behind such cruel act is yet to be ascertained.
The man was arrested after the viral video reached the police, following which a team from the Dispur police station picked the accused from Hengrabari area.
Police Official said that the man was detained and questioning is underway.
