Guwahati, Jan 1: Lokapriya Gopinath Bardoloi International Airport (LGBIA), managed by Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), recorded its highest-ever passenger traffic in calendar year 2025, handling a landmark 7.01 million passengers.

The surge was driven by robust growth in both domestic and international travel. Domestic operations accounted for 3.5 million arrivals and 3.4 million departures, while international traffic included 45,423 arrivals and 45,474 departures.

The airport also set new operational benchmarks during the year. On October 5, LGBIA handled a single-day record of 22,089 passengers, including transit travelers—highlighting the capacity gains from ongoing infrastructure upgrades.

International connectivity expanded significantly with the launch of direct flights to Paro, Bangkok, and Singapore, contributing to higher international passenger numbers and aircraft movements. In 2025, the airport registered 47,550 domestic ATMs and 1,000 international ATMs.

Cargo operations saw equally strong momentum. LGBIA handled 32,990 metric tonnes (MT) of cargo during the year. The Cargo Terminal achieved its highest-ever monthly throughput in December 2025 at 1,362 MT, including 374 MT of perishable cargo. A single-day record of 60 MT was set on December 22, 2025.

These milestones underscore LGBIA’s growing role as a critical aviation and logistics hub for Northeast India. The airport reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing connectivity, efficiency, and passenger experience as it cements its position as the region’s premier gateway.
