SHILLONG, July 30: The State Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) in coordination with officers of the ANTF Police Station, Shillong, apprehended one individual in possession of contraband at Rhino Point on Wednesday night.

The accused, identified as Wanphrangki Ranee (30) a resident of Pohkseh, Shillong, was intercepted around 9 PM while allegedly attempting to deliver heroin in his vehicle bearing registration number ML-05-AE-0593.

During the search and seizure operation, officials recovered one soap case containing heroin weighing 9.74 grams.

The accused has been taken into custody, and a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act is being registered against him.

Further investigation is underway.
