Shillong, Nov 25: The Hynniewtrep Integrated Territorial Organization (HITO) will hold a ‘Red Flag rally’ from U Soso Tham auditorium premises on Saturday.

The rally is scheduled to start at 3 PM.

In a statement issued on Friday, HITO president Donbok Dkhar said the purpose of the rally is to mourn the loss of five fellow citizens in a firing by Assam police at Mukroh village in West Jaintia Hills on November 22, 2022.

Dkhar also appealed to all concerned to join hands in the rally.

“We also appeal to all businesses to remain open as usual as our battle is not against any individual or community, but solely against the respective state governments which have failed to abide by the Constitution on guaranteeing the freedom of lives and livelihood of all citizens,” he said.
