Shillong, March 4: Holi was celebrated across Shillong on Wednesday with “Chang Dhamal Phagotsav” programmes organised at various locations in the city.
A major community celebration was held at Banwari Bajaj’s compound in Polo, where members of the Marwari Samaj Shillong — including women, men, children and elders gathered to mark the festival. Participants applied colours and gulal, exchanged greetings and celebrated together.
The event featured drum beats, traditional Holi songs, folk performances by women and dance performances by youth. Sweets and traditional delicacies were also served.
