SHILLONG, March 4: The National People’s Party (NPP) on Wednesday observed the 10th death anniversary of its founder and former Lok Sabha Speaker P. A. Sangma at the P.A. Sangma Building, Bivar Road, Polo Hills, Shillong.
Held under the theme “A Decade of Remembrance: Carrying Forward His Vision,” the programme chaired by Prof. Don Kupar War, General Secretary (Administration, Organisation & Election), NPP. Party leaders, office bearers, workers and supporters gathered to pay homage to the late leader.

The observance commenced with an opening prayer by Forward L. Mawlong, General Secretary, NPP, followed by a one-minute silence and a floral tribute ceremony in memory of P.A. Sangma.
An introductory address was delivered by Hamletson Dohling, Working President, NPP, who reflected on the life and legacy of the late leader. Speeches were also delivered by Bajop Pyngrope, Working President of NPYF; Grace Mary Kharpuri, President of NPWF; Dr. David A. Kharchandy, Secretary (Organisation), NPP; Daniel Thangkhiew, Treasurer, NPP and Prestone Tynsong, State President, NPP.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ransom Sutnga, Secretary, NPP, a concluding prayer by Emlang Lyttan and the rendition of the Meghalaya Anthem.
