SHILLONG, APR 7: Nathaneal Mantre Laloo, who secured 4rd rank in the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination, emphasized the importance of responsible internet use.
“The internet world is quite a dangerous world for teenagers… It really depends on how you use it,” Laloo said.
He shared her approach: “I used it for educational purposes, following news and scientific channels. I follow news channels, scientific channels, and that’s how I get my knowledge and prepare myself for future endeavors.”
Laloo’s advice to peers is to be mindful of their internet habits.
“You can’t use Instagram at this age, but it all depends on how you use it… Make it a tool for learning, not a distraction.”
With his balanced approach, Laloo excelled in SSLC exams.
Expressing his excitement, he said, “At this moment, excitement is going through the roof… I have to give all the glory to God, my parents, teachers, and school for their support.”
On preparing for the SSLC exams, Laloo advised, “Don’t confine yourself to hours, study when you feel like it… Be serious about it, it’s a make-it or break-it stage. Enjoy your school life, do what you love, but discipline yourself, especially in the last few months.”
Laloo’s future plan is to pursue commerce and become a chartered accountant, aiming to help local tribals.
“I know it might be a shock, but I’m inclined towards taking chartered accountancy as a job and helping the local tribals,” he said.
When asked about expectations, Laloo said, “My teachers and parents were expecting, but I didn’t want to give high hopes… I gave it my all, and I’ll be satisfied with the results.”
