Jowai, Aug 7: The Special Session of the Jaiñtia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) on “The Jaiñtia Hills Autonomous District (Constitution of District Council) (Amendment) Bill, 2024″ was convened on Wednesday.
The CEM of the Council, Thombor Shiwat tabled the Bill, which was the report of the Delimitation of the JHADC Constituencies prepared by the Delimitation Committee.
The Committee has proposed the abolition of the Jowai Central Constituency, the establishment of the Nangbah-Mihmyntdu Constituency and also reorganization of other Constituencies under the JHADC.
After a short discussion the Bill was passed by the House.
