JHTOA happy with Cement Cos for agreeing to new transportation rates

Jowai, Nov 11: The Jaiñtia Hills Truck Owners Association (JHTOA) organised an emergency meeting at Ynñiawmer, West Jaiñtia Hills on Thursday to discuss issues relating to the pending demands of the association especially about the transportation charges to and from the Cement Factories of Jaiñtia Hills.

The Association under the leadership of its President, Nidamon Chullet, had on November 9 met the representatives of the Cement Companies at Shillong to discuss the implementation of the transportation charges as notified by the Government which was Rs. 7 per MT per KM.

Following Thursday’s meeting, Chullet informed that the discussions with the representatives of the Cement Companies were fruitful as they had agreed to implement the rates as issued by the Government.

He further informed that the Cement Companies have also agreed to relocate their Godowns to Byrnihat and that special preferences will be given to the trucks owned by the members of JHTOA and from the state.

Chullet also informed that the new rate (Rs. 7) will be implemented from 15th November 2021 and if any of the members face difficulty they may contact him.
