Shillong, Oct 31: Larisha Kharjana, a police officer from Meghalaya, has been conferred with the Kendriya Grihmantri Dakshata Padak 2025 by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA7) for her outstanding service in the field of investigation.
According to the official MHA notification dated October 31, 2025, Kharjana is the only officer from Meghalaya to be honoured with this prestigious national award, which recognizes exceptional professional excellence and integrity in policing. Hee rank is shown as WPSI in Meghalaya police.

The Kendriya Grihmantri Dakshata Padak, approved by the Union Home Minister, is awarded annually to officers across India for exemplary performance in special operations, investigation, and forensic science. This year’s awardees include officers from various state police forces, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the National Investigation Agency (NIA), and other central agencies.
In 2016, her contribution was acknowledged by East Khasi Hills Police in investigating crimes against women.
