Shillong, May 31: The raw power of nature was on full force at Kshaid Khreng Khreng near Mawsynram, East Khasi Hills, as heavy monsoon rains transformed the landscape into a breathtaking yet dangerous scene. A short video captured by passersby shows a massive waterfall crashing down from above the road leading to Syntein village, forcing vehicles to pass directly beneath the roaring stream.
In this video, cars appear tiny under the powerful waterfall, showing the sheer force of the water. While the scene looks magical, it’s also extremely dangerous especially for those travelling during this ongoing heavy rain season.

In light of such conditions, the East Khasi Hills District Administration has issued a public advisory urging people to avoid crossing rivers and streams when water levels are rising. The warning also applies to suspension bridges and weak or damaged wooden bridges, which could give way under the pressure of floodwaters.
