Manipur: MLAs meet Governor over law and order

Imphal, June 8: A delegation of Manipur MLAs on Sunday called on Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Raj Bhavan to discuss the prevailing law and order situation in the state. The MLAs urged the Governor’s intervention to help find an amicable solution to the ongoing challenges.

During their discussion, the elected representatives apprised Governor Bhalla of the ground realities concerning the state’s security. In response, the Governor assured the delegation that “all necessary steps are being taken to address the concerns and to restore normalcy.”

Following the meeting with the MLAs, the Governor convened a high-level security review meeting with senior administrative and security officials. The meeting involved a comprehensive discussion and review of various matters related to the current law and order situation.

Among the key officials present were the Security Advisor, Director General of Police (DGP), Commissioner (Home), Secretary to the Governor, Additional Director General of Police (Law & Order), Inspector General Assam Rifles (South), Inspector General, CRPF, and other senior officials.
