Imphal, July 17: The Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum ( ITLF) held a well public consultation on Monday over the two months old Manipur crisis.
The meeting was attended by the tribal MLAs like Chinlunthang from Singngat, Letzamang Haokip from Henglep and Ngursanglur from Tipaimukh and all tribe recognised leaders, student, Civil society groups, Community and philanthropic organisation leaders .
During the meeting, demands for separate administration was given a unanimous reaffirmation and by all the leaders and discussion was also held on the way forward.
The meeting was marked by the tendering of reports by the general Secretary ITLF Muan Tombing about his meeting with the central intelligence agencies and the army officials and other leaders with their MLAs .
He said they were urged by the officials to follow two strategy one short another long-term solution to the problems which included for end of the violence which they replied stating as long as they are attacked they have to figure back so as to defend themselves , their land,territory and their home and hearths from being torched as art of the the short term solution while the long-term solution comprises political talks .
Chinlunthang MLA, Letzamang MLA and Ngursanglur during their speeches informed the gatherings that they don’t hesitate to step down even from their position if need arises and reiterate the need for separate administration with the Meiteis.
