Meghalaya COVID-19 Update: 613 fresh cases detected, 890 make recovery

Shillong, May 29: In a sort of relief for the people of the state, the daily caseload of COVID-19 in Meghalaya continues to decline as the state recorded 613 fresh cases while 890 made recoveries in the last 24 hours, according to the daily bulletin by the Health Department on Saturday.

The state had recorded 731 COVID-19 cases on Friday and 941 patients made recovery at the same time, making it the highest single-day recovery for the State so far. On Thursday, 809 cases were detected and 597 had made recoveries.

However, 7 lives were lost to the corona virus in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally of death to 551.

The state has so far recorded 34,448 cases of corona, of which the active cases are 7,741 while 26,156 people have recovered.

The government has been ramping up health facilities in the state to manage the situation better and flatten the curve while concerned citizens have also joined in the effort to ensure enough beds are available and ration is made available to all.
