Meghalaya COVID-19 Update: State registers highest one-day recovery with 974 recoveries

Shillong, May 30: Meghalaya on Sunday registered its highest number of recoveries in a day so far with 974 recoveries, even though the state saw a surge in the positive cases with 742 new cases added to the State’s tally. At the same time, 13 deaths were also recorded.

With this, the state has so far recorded 35,190 COVID-19 positive cases, of which 27,130 have recovered while 7,496 are still recovering, whereas 564 deaths have occurred due to the corona virus.

COVID cases on decline

COVID-19 cases had been on a decline since last week in the State with Saturday registering 613 cases, 731 cases on Friday and 809 cases on Thursday before Sunday’s jump.

Meanwhile, on a positive note, the state has been registering strong surge of recoveries wherein Saturday was 890 recoveries, 941 on Friday and 597 on Thursday.

On Sunday, East Khasi Hills saw the highest recovery with 530 cases, followed by West Jaintia Hills with 172, West Garo Hills – 88, South West Garo Hills – 46, West Khasi Hills – 41, South Garo Hills – 23, East Garo Hills – 19, East Jaintia Hills – 17, Ri Bhoi – 15, North Garo Hills – 14 and South West Khasi Hills – 9.
