Shillong, Sept 10: Leader of Opposition, Dr. Mukul Sangma on Friday criticized the NPP-led MDA government for the deterioration of law and order in the State, especially in Shillong. The situation has become such because Dr Sangma felt the government has failed to take stock of the law and order situation and allegedly shifted its priorities.
He also opined that the incumbent government has failed to deal with issues whether it relates to implementing programmes or in respect of dealing with controversial and contentious issues such as border issue or the law and order situation.
Motion to remove Metbah as Speaker
Dr. Sangma also said that the opposition will make an elaborative submission on the resolution for the removal of the Assembly Speaker, Metbah Lyngdoh from his office when it is taken up for deliberations during the ongoing Autumn Session.
Maintaining that the moving of this resolution is nothing personal against the Assembly Speaker, he insisted that this was done for the larger good of the people and the State.
