Guwahati, Mar 23: The North East Regional Institute of Science & Technology in Nirjuli, Arunachal Pradesh has signed a memorandum of understanding with IIT Guwahati on Thursday to enhance educational and research collaborations.

The agreement gives an official stamp of support from IIT Guwahati to NERIST for launching new bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs.

With this partnership, NERIST scholars will receive support for specialized testing facilities through collaborative research programs. Summer internship opportunities ranging from two to eight weeks will also be offered to NERIST students by IIT Guwahati.

In addition to this, technical assistance will also be provided for establishing a center of excellence for skills development and an incubation center at NERIST.

Professor Rajeev Ahuja, the Director of IIT Guwahati, and Professor Narendranath S, the Director of NERIST, signed the MoU.

Both institutions agreed on a faculty exchange program to enhance research and teaching capacities.
