Shillong, Oct 12: The 7th Conclave of North East Cricket Development Committee (NECDC) has stressed on uniform funding, especially for infrastructure development grants from BCCI, and transparency and accountability in utilization of funds for development of cricket in the member states.
The conclave was held at Sovima near Dimapur on October 8, 2021, hosted by the Nagaland Cricket Association.
The Conclave was chaired by Neiphiu Rio, Convenor, and conducted by Naba Bhattacharjee, Co-Convenor. Meghalaya was represented by Dipul Ryntathiang, VP, MCA and Rayonald Kharkamni, founder member.

The meeting adopted resolutions on matters related to uniform funding, particularly infrastructure development grants from BCCI, maintaining total transparency and accountability in matters of accounts and utilization of funds, better communication between the six states and BCCI, promotion of grass root level cricket to encourage indigenous young potential and improving cricket related activities like regular tournaments etc among NECDC states to ensure better understanding and bonding among the states etc.
The delegates also attended the inaugural function of NCA third cricket ground at Sovima.
About North East Cricket Development Committee
NECDC is a joint coordinating body of six north east states i.e. Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim. It was formed in 2016 at the initiative of Naba Bhattacharjee, the then Honorary Secretary of MCA and Neiphiu Rio, Chief Minister of Nagaland & Former President of NCA, with the objective towards united approach for full membership of BCCI which was achieved in 2018, besides coordinating on all other common cricketing issues with the board.
