Priyanshu Sonowal from Guwahati, Assam, and Denny Charu from Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh, will compete against top young talents from around the world in one of Southeast Asia’s premier badminton tournaments. Their selection marks a significant milestone for the region’s sporting landscape and underscores the growing prominence of Northeast India in the national badminton circuit.

Both shuttlers have been training intensively at the Dibrugarh Multipurpose Indoor Sports Hall under the guidance of expert coaches. Their inclusion in the international event is being seen as a testament to their dedication and the quality of training infrastructure available in Dibrugarh.

The Dibrugarh Sports Office has extended its full support and best wishes to the duo, expressing hope that their achievements will inspire a new generation of athletes from the region to take up the sport professionally.

The players will leave for Thailand early next week to acclimatise ahead of the tournament.
