Shillong, April 23: Over 500 Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) members took part in a road march in the city on Sunday.

The rally started from Hindi Balika School (opposite Goenka motors) and passed through Keating road via Police Bazaar point – Bijou cinema hall – Dreamland – Sani Mandir point and should proceed to Boucher road – Military hospital – Rilbong Point – Jhalupara Point – Lower Mawprem taxi stand – Upper Mawprem – Barapathar point – Luckier road – and culminated at Cantonment ground, Garikhana.

Police personnel were deployed along the procession route.

The East Khasi Hills DC in a notification stated that the organisers should ensure that ‘no provocative slogans’ against any particular community be shouted by participants in the road march which may lead to law and order and communal disharmony.

Also, the District Administration had instructed the organisers to complete the road march within the stipulated time.
